What Customers Say About Black & Decker HCC100 Home Cafe Single Serve Coffee Brewing System, Black:

Literally, your coffee will not be very hot w/this machine. But, hey, I got this one on sale for $8 - and now I know why LOL. I have to reheat in the microwave to be decent. And no frothy top like the Senseo, which I also have. My husband will use it for the to-go mug feature. You pay more for the Senseo, but hands down you will get a better machine and an awesome cuppa joe with it.

And she doesn't remove the tank either. I have a friend who loved mine and so got one of her own. I've had mine for over 4yrs.the only problem I had at the begining was that I removed the water tank to refill it and it leaked after I put it back in-but that was my fault for not pushing it down far enough. I don't understand that.

I think this is a design flaw--they should've made it that the tank wasn't removable. see so many negative reports. As far as the taste: I use my every day and buy some rather expensive pods but have never experienced any plastic or "off" taste from my machine. If you do get one.DO NOT REMOVE THE TANK. Hers died after only a few months-the element wouldn't heat-up.

And w/ regards to those who complain that they have a difficult time closing it. Fill it and run it through several times w/ out any pods to rinse it out. After that I don't remove it,I refilled it w/ a pitcher and it's never leaked again. It's easy, hold the top down and pull the leaver towards you.I can do it w/ one hand. But she loved it so much she bought another one and has had it now for 2 yrs.

She's had no problem w/ it and she drinks several cups a day. For those who are interested in buying one you need to remember that these like all machines are mass-produced and there's bound to be some coming off the factory line that are not right-bad element, tubing not secure, bad seal, etc. I will tell you that if mine died today I'd be right here on Amazon ordering another one, I wouldn't think twice about it.I guess it's one of those things: You really love or you really hate it.

NO IDEA WHY. I USED THE COFFEE POT FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THE 14OZ AND "CREAMERY" LIGHT WENT ON AND STAYED ON., EVEN THOUGH I PRESSED THE 9 OZ LIGHT. WAS FINE; WASHED THE POD HOLDERS EACH TIME THEY WERE USED. I ONLY MADE 1 (SOMETIMES 2) CUPS OF COFFEE EACH DAY; APPROX THE 12TH/14TH TIME I WENT TO USE IT.IT HAD STOPPED WORKING. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. STAY AWAY FROM THE B&D SINGLE CUP.GET SENSEO INSTEAD.

I will be returning this immediately and stopping off at starbucks to cleanse that horrible taste from my mouth. Swill.

I brewed a couple cups of coffee using fresh pods I purchased with it (not the 8 sample pods that have a best use date of 03/05). It is terrible.

Just picked up this thing from a shelf on a WAL at a local super MART for $19.88. Then I tried the 9oz setting with again two pods (as is suggested for a "strong" cup of coffee).

First I tried a 14oz cup with 2 pods. Too weak.

I am not blaming the folgers pods (I dont think) because I have had good cups of folgers from my old auto drip, but something is awry. I guess I got what I piad for.

PROS: Makes a quick cup of coffee.CONS: I went through two of these. If you really want a Black & Decker Home Cafe, get the newer model- GT300 Home Café. Very cheap and breaks easily.I'm finding the specialty pods- Skinny Latte & Cappuccino, hard to come buy. Usually the ones I find on the store shelves are expired. *Note: I also owned one of those Senseo coffee makers. It would consistently dispense the wrong amount of water resulting in numerous overfills therefore wasting numerous coffee pods, so more expensive isn't always better.
